MEMBERSHIP

The Lightroom is a non-profit institution dedicated to furthering the knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the photographic arts by creating an environment for discussion through education, exhibitions and a darkroom facility.

The Lightroom is currently a Co-Op organziation. The Lightroom facility is located in the Art Musuem area and is fully equipped with a state of the art darkroom (printing capabilities up to 4×5) and digital lab (Mac G4s with Adobe Photoshop CS, Epson scanner and printers). Other benefits of membership include participation in member group exhibits in various Philadelphia venues, discounted access to Lightroom educational workshops and involvement in a community of Philadelphia based photographic artists.

The co-op member fee will be $50 per month with a minimum 12 month membership agreement.

All members will participate in a training session to ensure proper knowledge of all operational aspects of the lab including mixing chemistry, operation of the digital printer and scanner, etc.

All prospective members must meet minimal requirements (photo knowledge and skills) and interview with existing members to be considered for membership. A tour of the facility will be conducted during the interview process.
